Miracles

Miracles are not something I will even pretend to know much about. We all have heard stories or maybe you know someone who was sick or had a disease and was miraculously healed. Why am I talking about miracles? Recently, I have been reading through Matthew and Mark. I am again amazed at how many miracles Jesus performed. What struck me this time is that not only did Jesus heal the sick, lame, and possessed (physical healing) he also brought spiritual healing. In Mark chapter 2 Jesus heals a paralytic, but before he does this, because of the man’s faith in God and who He is, Jesus says, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” To me this is a miracle. This man, a sinner, was forgiven of his sins. Just like this man, I too have received this gift. Not by my own merit, but because of Christ and His love for me. As I prepare to go to Kenya this summer, I am praying to see many miracles. To see the hearts of people changed and lives transformed because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So pray, pray that God would be at work in the hearts of unbelievers. Pray that my heart too would not return unchanged.
